TAVISTOCK travelled to PGSOBs hoping to build on last week's win and continue their good form in the top three of the league. Unfortunately, the home team had other ideas, starting the better and putting Tavistock under pressure from the first whistle. The Tavistock defence finally succumbed to the initial onslaught and conceded a soft goal to enter the interval one goal adrift.
The away team started the better in the second half, but PG tipped the balance further in their favour when, after a dubious infringement was missed by the umpires, their centre forward was left with an easy finish.
Undeterred, Tavistock continued to play some great flowing hockey through Marchant P, Bury, Edwards and Heard linking well in midfield. This culminated in them clawing back a goal from a well- worked short corner, slotted past the keeper by Marchant S. However, time was not on their side, and despite several opportunities, the score finished PGSOB 2-1 victors.
