THE high wind and sloping pitch were always going to spoil the game with players struggling to get the ball under control.
It took Thistles until the second half to start to get a grip. Josh Canning at left wing enabled Ben Sharland, Eddie Lowe and Chris Macrae to control the midfield.
The first goal came from a long-range strike which caught the hard working Saltash keeper off guard, the second from Peter Allen who pounced on a loose ball in the Saltash penalty area.
