ROUND the world yachtsman Pete Goss will officially open the doors to a kitchen company?s new home in Tavistock. Pete will start the weekend celebrations tomorrow (Friday) for John Thorpe Fine Furniture. It will be open to the public on Saturday in Pym Street and will feature some of the world?s finest contemporary and traditional kitchens. Visitors to the showroom on Saturday, Sunday and Monday will receive free drinks, be able to see cooking demonstrations and will be invited to enter a competition to win a £7,500 drinks chiller. John Thorpe said that after searching all over Devon and Cornwall for the best place to open the new showroom, it soon became clear Tavistock was the ideal location. He said: ?Tavistock is a great place, a lovely town and the perfect venue, we feel, to open our very first high street showroom.? The new showroom will be open this weekend from 10 am to 4pm.
