TAVISTOCK Swimming Club member Pete Jarman was in action at the weekend competing in the challenging Bude Shoreline Triathlon. 

It is one of the few full length triathlons which allow juniors to enter.  The event started from Summerleaze Beach, with a 500m sea swim, followed by an 11 mile cycle ride to Widemouth and back, finishing with a 3 mile run along to the canal towpath and back to Summerleaze Beach. 

With more than 250 participants this was an excellent experience for Pete, 13, who finished the event in a time of 1hour 28minutes 44 seconds.

Pete came 10th in the U18s age group and received a t-shirt and medal for taking part in the triathlon.
