ALL last winter?s hard work training paid off for the five Mid Devon Pony Club tetrathletes who travelled down to the Four Burrow PC Tetrathlon at Truro last weekend. Four of them swam personal bests with Richard Malseed improving his by 10 metres and his sister Rosa adding 7m to her pb. In the mini girls? class, Jessica Jeffery (pictured) was second fastest swimmer in her class and then slashed seven seconds from her running pb. On Sunday she rode a great cross-country round to finish in the places for the first time in her career. In the junior girls, Lottie Trerise was another to swim a pb, and after a good run, she finished the first day in fifth place. She then rode a brilliant cross-country round, just picking up penalties at the windswept gate. Although she incurred time penalties she moved up to fourth place, just three points behind her great rival Georgina Barrington. In the junior boys? triathlon, Will Leech was in fine form, finishing in second place.
