OKEHAMPTON Golf Club ladies? section Invitation Day was enjoyed by all who took part.
Winners were Penny Deakin (Okehampton) partnered by Pat Leach (Manor House), and in second place were Jenni Hutchinson (Okehampton) and her partner Di Stevens (The Hampshire).
This was followed by the Championship Day on Wednesday June 18. The weather was none too brilliant, but the scores were excellent.
Overall champion, playing 36 holes, was Marcia Holwill with a gross 170. Amanda Clifford came second with gross 177 and Cherry James was third with 180.
The ladies? champion for the net competition was Lynn Hazelton with 128 over 36 holes.
The 18-hole champion was Maureen Willcocks with a net 61. Sylvia Caunter came second with net 65 and third was Mary Keir with net 69.
The previous Monday when the weather was almost too hot the Sheelah Creasy team played Libbaton at home and recorded a win of 4-3.
