EXPLORER Pen Hadow is expected to complete his 680-mile trek to the Geographic South Pole this morning (Thursday.)
Pen, from Hexworthy, will become the first person to trek unsupported to both the North and South Geographic Poles if he succeeds in his challenge.
Pen and his companion, 63-year-old Simon Murray, are raising cash for the Royal Geographical Society in order to restore the polar archive.
The challenge began on December 2 from the Hercules Inlet on the edge of the Antarctic continent and the pair set out with 275 kilos of food and supplies on sledges.
