HOLLYWOOD could be beckoning for an entertaining young man who has tickled Cornish audiences with his stand-up comedy routine.

Former Callington Community College student Chris Brind, 21, has proved a hit on the West Country comedy circuit with his humorous slant on rap music.

And now he is aiming to take his comic creation, Pasty B ? Cornwall?s answer to Ali G ? to the big screen.

Filming has just begun on Chris?s production, 10 Acre, which he wrote with friend and producer Danny Rose.

The film is a send-up of Eminem?s 8 Mile, and tells the story of Pasty B?s meteoric rise from Cornish bumpkin to international stardom as a rap artist.

Chris, who lives in Pensilva, near Liskeard, said: ?The idea for the film really came about when me and a friend were working for my Dad last April.

?We were talking about rap outfits like So Solid Crew and More Fire Crew and decided to do a send-up version of our own.

?We formed the Outrageous Bumpkin Crew, and recorded some tracks like Stop Your Laughing and Up Top Field.

?We sent them to Radio One and, to our amazement, Chris Moyles played them! I couldn?t believe it.?

Chris decided to take things a step further and record a music video with his friend?s production company.

He said: ?We got a great response from that and I came up with the idea of doing a feature length drama.?

Chris?s big break came when he entered a talent competition in Exmouth and made it through to the semi-finals with his Pasty B routine.

He was spotted by Dave Gardner, who runs several comedy clubs in the South West, and was immediately booked to perform in the Walkabout Bar in Newquay, the Three Fat Fish in Exeter and Plymouth?s Barbican Theatre.

?Dave Gardner told me to develop my stand up comedy because he believed it had good potential,? explained Chris.

?When I did my ten-minute slot in Newquay I was a bit worried because a load of rugby players in the front row were heckling the first comic.

?But I didn?t get heckled and Dave told me the audience loved it.?

Despite his growing fame and popularity, Chris has not forgotten where he came from, and returned to his old school to recruit actors for his new film.

Even his old drama teacher has landed a part in the production, which has a cast of 34.

Chris explained: ?We went to Callington Community College to see if the kids wanted to be involved and they were really up for it. We got a really positive response.?
