A NEW centre combining children's services and a learning facility has opened at Callington Community College.
The Hambly Centre, developed through a partnership involving Cornwall Council and the college, is made up of two facilities, the Children's Trust Cornwall office and the Globe: Centre for International Learning.
The Children's Trust office brings together Cornwall Council services for children, schools and families and includes meeting rooms, a drop-in office space for health along with a wide range of partners, including the police and voluntary sector providers.
It will reduce the need for members of the public and professional organisations to travel to other areas of Cornwall.
The office is part of the innovative 'Integration through Co-location Project' and is linked to similar offices in Bude and Launceston.
The Globe will create opportunities further to develop the college's many partnerships with schools and organisations across the world and will build upon its success as an international school.
Using the highest quality video conferencing and learning management systems, students will learn through tutorials, mentoring and group work locally, nationally and worldwide.
