BELSTONE made it four wins out of five in the South Devon league on Sunday at Rew Meadow beating Dawlish and Teignmouth by 8 wickets. The home team won the toss and elected to send the visitors into bat on a wicket that was soft and damp. The Dawlish and Teignmouth batsmen all struggled against some excellent bowling by Jonathan Parsons (9-6-7-3) and Aidan Easterbrook (7-1-8-2). After 12 overs the visitors had only scored nine runs for the loss of four wickets, with Parsons only conceding one run in his first six overs. All of the bowlers used by Belstone took wickets with Greensitt (21) the only batsman for the visitors to reach double figures. Dawlish and Teignmouth were bowled out in the 28th over for a disappointing total of 45. Pete Gross (7) and Richard Drake (29) led Belstone?s reply with a confident stand of 30 before Gross was dismissed by a ball that lifted sharply. Only one further wicket was lost by the home team with Drake finishing the match off in style with three 4s in an over. Belstone reached their target of 46 off only 10.5 overs as the match concluded just before tea. Belstone man of the match: Jonathan Parsons. Belstone play a South Devon league game at Torquay on Sunday.
