MORE than £200 was presented to disaster relief charity ShelterBox recently, thanks to West Devon Borough Council staff who volunteered to take car park donations on Goose Fair evening.
Fairgoers who parked at the council's Tavistock office car park during the evening were asked for a donation to the charity which delivers emergency shelter to people affected by disaster worldwide.
A cheque for £211.46 was presented to David Glover, Rotary liaison officer for ShelterBox, who said: 'It's amazing how the inspiration by a few people in Tavistock on Goose Fair day can help change the lives of those people who live on the other side of the world, that have lost all their possessions due to a disaster.
'The effort made by the staff at West Devon Borough Council will enable those people in Samoa and Sumatra regain their dignity and future.'
