WEST Devon and Torridge MP Geoffrey Cox held a meeting in the War Memorial Hall in Yelverton to answer questions ahead of boundary reorganisation. At the next general election, Yelverton and Buckland Monachorum will return to being part of the West Devon and Torridge constituency, having for a while been in Gary Streeter's South West Devon constituency. Mr Cox held the meeting to explain Conservative policies and took part in a question and answer session which ranged from local issues such as post office closures to wider ones, including Europe. He was joined at the meeting by one of the West Devon Borough councillors for the ward, Conservative Philip Sanders, and the chairman and treasurer of Yelverton and Buckland Monachorum branch of the Conservative Association, Bob Crosbie and Dr Keith Strelling. They first went to the Rock Inn to meet people, but a planned walkabout had to be abandoned due to the atrocious weather. Approximately 30 people attended the meeting.
