PARENTS from St Rumon's School were recently invited to visit and see children using educational equipment bought for them, as part of the 'National PTA Join In Day'. The school's PTA took advantage of the day to showcase some of the equipment bought with money raised by the PTA over the past three years. Equipment includes digital cameras and other ICT appliances, toys and furniture for the foundations stage unit, scooters and road safety signs for the playground and toys for wet playtimes. Headteacher Clare Wesson said: 'The PTA at St Rumon's is the best PTA I have ever worked with — an energetic and enthusiastic committee led by a superb chair, Sarah Adkins. 'Not only do they raise lots of money, but they also organise fun social events for all the school community.' Sarah Adkins said that money raised was not only used to buy equipment to enhance the children's learning, but to provide extra enrichment experiences, such as a professional storyteller on World Book Day, a visiting theatre group and subsidy for school visits.
