ONE of the region's most accomplished painters has joined the resident artists at Duchy Square Centre for Creativity in Princetown as a print maker — visitors to the centre will have the chance to see examples of her painting and print skills when she stages two open studio events.

Heidi Koenig — whose prints and paintings are inspired by Devon's countryside and beaches — will be holding the events on Saturday and Sunday October 30 and 31 and Saturday and Sunday November 13 and 14.

Heidi's contemporary abstract prints and paintings were on display in the centre's main gallery in September last year, when she received widespread acclaim for the works.

She will be working on a variety of print making projects of her own, as well as using the Duchy Square workspace to teach mono printing and other print disciplines in a series of workshops.

Heidi said: 'I thoroughly enjoyed my exhibition at Duchy Square last year and I was lucky enough to have very positive feedback for my work, which is always wonderful for an artist.

'Taking work space at the centre will enable me to reach a wider audience and give me a greater capacity to teach on a small scale. I am really looking forward to getting new creative inspiration from the stunning moorland that surrounds Duchy Square.'
