NOW is the best time for householders in West Devon to get their homes insulated ready for winter — with a package of offers launched across the county to help people keep their homes warm as well as making savings on fuel bills.
Working with Devon County Council, the ten local authorities across the county have joined forces with Energy Action Devon, NEA (National Energy Action) and energy supplier E.ON to provide the best deals to householders.
Under the scheme, homeowners in West Devon who are on benefits, have a low income or are elderly may be eligible for free loft insulation or cavity wall insulation.
Grants and discounts for energy efficiency and heating improvements are already widely available for people across Devon, but many are still unaware of the free advice and financial help available to them.
There are also grants available to landlords and tenants for help towards insulating and heating rented properties.
The three-year project aims to help the people of Devon save energy and money in their homes by offering significant discounts on home insulation.
The scheme is looking to develop partnerships with local community groups, many of whom will be dealing on a daily basis with those vulnerable people who are most likely to benefit from these offers.
Community groups can even receive a cash reward for making referrals that qualify.
