TAVISTOCK travelled to Kingsbridge with a much weakened squash team, their regular first and second players missing.
Peter Walsh, no longer a regular Devon League player, stepped into fill the void at number 4. He maintains his court skills playing in the Plymouth Company League and used all these and ability to pace himself to produce a very creditable 3-1 win.
The only other point gained during the evening was won by Stuart Cox playing at No 2. His running game which includes more variation these days underlined his continued improvement.
Both Mike Gray and Colin Grice playing at numbers 3 and 1 respectively did not come close to taking a point. The return home match in January should prove to be a closer match, if Tavistock can field a full team.
