THE 16th Annual Charity Bonanza was recently held at the Tavistock Pannier Market. This event, which is organised by Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS) was supported by 15 other charities and raised more than £4,000 for the benefit of local people. My thanks for this outstanding day go to all of the supporting charities and to their ?gangs? of hard-working volunteers. Also, thank-you to Tavistock Town Council for the use of the pannier market facilities, (it really is ?the only place to be? in Tavistock), and really big thanks to the thousands of people who turned out to give their support on the day (both financially and verbally). It was pleasing to hear comments from visitors to Tavistock about how lucky the town was to have such a large base of charity organisations and volunteers. Thank you all once again. May I also apologise to those charities we couldn?t fit in this year. This event does grow every year, and it is a case of early booking please, so look out for your post in the New Year. Lastly, for those who bought summer draw tickets, and were not present for the draw, you will be contacted by TASS if you have won a prize. A full list of prize winners is on display at the Anchorage Centre (next to the bus station) where you will also see a list of local businesses that supported the raffle.
