RHS Garden Rosemoor is now offering all-terrain mobility buggies to visitors with limited mobility.
The Mark II Tramper buggies are part of Countryside Mobility South West which aims to improve access to the countryside for people with limited mobility living in or visiting the South West.
Using the Trampers, visitors will be able to go everywhere at Rosemoor — even to the upper woodland walk where there are spectacular views over the whole garden. The electric buggies will hold enough charge for a full tour and the extensive safety features mean that they are stable, safe and reliable even over rough terrain or in muddy or wet conditions.
Sally Charleton, head of site, said: 'We are delighted to participate in this scheme. Some beautiful areas of Rosemoor Garden are currently inaccessible or very difficult to get to for people with limited mobility. Providing the Trampers gives a new level of freedom to these visitors with their friends and family. We hope current members of the scheme enjoy this new venue and encourage others to join up and take advantage of it.'
To use the Trampers, visitors must either hold temporary or annual membership of the Countryside Mobility scheme. Membership can be taken out onsite on the day and includes a short training session. Annual membership costs £8.50 and membership for four weeks costs £2.50. Visitors can then use Trampers at any affiliated site.
