A HOLIDAY let property in Highampton has proved it has five-star quality by being awarded a prestigious five star rating by the English Tourism Council.
Orchard House in Highampton has only recently been made available to let by its new owners.
Owner Mrs Justine Sames said: 'I have been working towards this for months and am delighted to receive such a high rating for accommodation quality.'
Mrs Sames said she worked with the English Tourism Council at all stages of the process to make sure the house was able to achieve a five-star listing.
She began letting out the four bedroom house two months ago. 'We did it because we like the area and now we have got three children of our own we wanted somewhere to go close to Dartmoor and Bude,' she said.
One of the benefits of being awarded five-star status is a free listing in the next edition of Where to Stay magazine.
Mrs Sames said the interior of the house was largely cream, creating the impression of a 'cream palace'. She added: 'Everyone who has stayed so far has said it is absolutely fantastic'.
Orchard House offers self catering accommodation which includes an indoor heated pool and a private fishing lake, with a 40 ft by 10 ft balcony offering views of Dartmoor.
