Yelverton Bohemians U15 v Whitchurch Wayfarers U15
WHITCHURCH, having elected to bat first, set a virtually unassailable 125 for 1, with opener Richard Hall making 71 and Tim Watson 31, sharing a first wicket partnership of 115.
Seb Nixon and R Melville were pick of the bowlers and J Sharland picked up the only wicket.
Yelverton, in reply, could not get any real momentum going due to a steady fall of wickets brought about by a combination of tight bowling and sharp fielding.
Yelverton's best bat was S Rowlands who top-scored with 11 and the Whitchurch bowling honours were shared by Oliver Field, 3 for 3, and James Aggiss, 2 for 2, who also bagged a couple of catches.
Plymouth CS v Tavistock U15s
TAVISTOCK travelled to Beacon Park looking for a first win of the season.
Plymouth won the toss and invited Tavistock to bat. The visitors got off to a steady start, albeit a little on the slow side. J Chatsford and B Rowe tried to up the rate against a steady bowling attack.
It was, however, D Downham who led the way to a total of 73.
Tavistock's bowlers B Busby and B Stevens started well and both claimed wickets, but the home side managed to contain the other bowlers and it was not until captain B Neale took the ball that the visitors managed any more success, taking 3 for 12.
Perhaps the visitors could have won if the fielding had not been so poor, apart from A Clarke, T Murray and D Downham.
Next match Tavistock v Plymouth, Monday.
