THE fourth annual 'Cream Tea Run' charity motorbike ride took place last Saturday as part of a weekend of live music and fun to raise money for the National Association for Bikers with a Disability and Hospiscare.
Events kicked off on Friday with a night of food and live music at Bracken Tor House, headlined by the winners of the 2011 Okehampton Battle of the Bands, the Monkey Gland Blues Band.
Revellers camped overnight and bikers set off from the London Inn on Saturday morning, taking in some of the best roads in Devon before returning to Okehampton.
The day was rounded off with another fundraising concert, with a bonfire, barbecue and more great live music. The night was headlined by Stevie — One Bloke One Mandolin, and next morning revellers enjoyed a hearty English breakfast.
Event organiser Janice Elson said: It was a fabulous weekend. The area we use at the hostel was extended and it still was absolutely packed, so the event is definitely growing.
'All the musicians were amazingly well received, with eleven different acts over the weekend. It was such a mixture and everyone went down so well.
'Next year is the fifth one, and I have got plenty of ideas to make it something special. So planning is starting early.'
Organisers are still counting the money raised by the event.
