OKEHAMPTON Community Hospital is holding an entertaining session on Friday, August 31, for people with memory problems.
The Redvers Unit at the hospital will be open to the public between 2pm and 4pm to advise those who have memory difficulties, on what is available at their local hospital and in the community.
Mel Stride, MP for Central Devon, will be attending to lend his support.
The informal event will include songs from the unit's music, movement and memory group and refreshments will be provided.
Carol Hookway, a community support worker, told the Times: 'We are trying to make people more aware of dementia as well as reduce the stigma attached to it.
'If you are worried about your memory, or a friend or a relative, or if you work with people with the condition, or are interested in what services are available locally, please come along and find out more.
'If people get this condition we want to assure them there is help out there for them.'
