ANOTHER small step is being taken towards the £500,000 scheme to build a community centre in Princetown.
The moorland village's community hall action group are applying to Dartmoor Park Authority for planning permission to build a centre on land adjacent to Princetown Primary School.
Michael Fitzpatrick, treasurer of the group, said: 'We are going for the outline application so we know at least that's being done.
'It's one of the first steps to see if there are any problems.'
Mr Fitzpatrick said the group is looking at raising in excess of £500,000 to build the centre.
'We have got a number of organisations who have promised in principle that they would support the scheme,' he said.
Dartmoor National Park will consider the application at their meeting in February.
