TWO cyclists riding from London to Paris presented Down?s Syndrome Association with a cheque of £5,000 at a champagne and canapés evening in Callington. Family, friends and supporters of Michael Armstrong and Andy Williamson raised a glass at Langmans Restaurant before the pair proceeded up to London for the first leg of the cycle ride to Paris. Last Saturday Mike and Andy cycled the rural countryside to the outskirts of Paris and finally down to finish under the Eiffel Tower. Mike, from Launceston, is doing this for the association as his daughter Nicole suffers from Down?s Syndrome. This will be the second year he has taken on the 340-mile challenge. He said: ?The association is going to provide a lifetime of support to my daughter Nicole so I will return the same with my fundraising efforts.? Carol Boys, chief executive of Down?s Syndrome Association, was presented with the cheque of £5,000 with more to follow once the ride has been completed.
