BERE Alston local historian and former Tamar Valley Line railwayman John Snell will be helping train passengers take a trip back in time this Sunday (July 24). John started his career at Calstock station in 1949 and worked on the line for many years during the age of steam. He will be sharing anecdotes about railiway life and telling the story of the line on the 15.17 train from Plymouth ? joining it at Bere Ferrers. The talk will be from there to Gunnislake and back. Normal fares apply and no booking is required. John will also be telling his tales of the line on August 21 on the 15.17 train. Music trains will be running on the line on August 5 and September 2, leaving Plymouth at 21.24 and Gunnislake at 22.12. There will also be guided commentary on the 13.17 train from Plymouth and the 14.07 from Gunnislake every Sunday throughout July and August. For further details contact 01752 233094.
