AS Olympic torchbearers ran through West Devon wherever they went the runners were greeted with enthusiasm by the crowds lining the streets for this historic event.

A staggering 8,000 bearers will carry in the Olympic flame, in relay, which started its British journey in Land's End, Cornwall on Saturday through the South West and onto the rest of the UK before it arrives on July 27 at the Olympic Stadium, London to mark the start of the 30th Olympiad.

Among those given the honour of carrying the torch was British pistol shooter Gorgs Geikie (pictured) from Tawton who held it through the streets of Okehampton on Monday.
