MOBILE phone owners are again being asked to donate their old mobiles and chargers to raise money for charity. Local-based charity, the Santa Rosa Fund will be given £3 for every mobile and charger it receives. Phones will then be updated to become a useful piece of equipment and recycled into the market. The fund appeals to people who receive new phones this Christmas, and do not pass their old ones on, to bring them along to Tavistock Cycles, Paddons Row or to the Library in Plymouth Road. Boxes to place the old mobile phones will be found at these two locations until January 31, 2006. The money donated for the mobiles will be used by the Santa Rosa Fund to support educational projects in Nicaragua, Central America. The Santa Rosa Fund expressed thanks to the many who donated their old mobile phones for the re-cycling scheme done recently by the charity.
