WHEN Mia Courtney-Brett decided she needed a haircut, she wanted to make sure her long locks went to a good cause.

So after her auntie, hairdresser Kelly Friggens, cut 14 inches off her tresses, she decided to donate them to the Little Princess Trust.

She’s also raised £230 in sponsorship for the charity, which provides real hair wigs free of charge for children with cancer.

Mum Selina, of Oaklands Drive, Okehampton, said: ‘She thought that because her hair was so long, it would be such a waste to just cut it off and chuck it in the bin. So we decided we’d donate it to the Little Princess Trust.

‘It have got it in a clear bag ready to take to the Post Office this afternoon. Mia keeps looking at it. She’s so excited that it is going to be used by the Little Princess Trust.’
