Okehampton Town Council has donated £500 to a charity which helps families bereaved by suicide across Devon.
The council made the decision to make the grant to Pete’s Dragons at its policy and resources committee on September 18. The Exmouth-based charity supports people living with the aftermath of a suicide.
The charity focuses on creating a bespoke pack to suit the needs of each family or individual bereaved by suicide. An appropriate combination of leaflets, information and guidance is put together to ensure knowledge of and access to the charity’s listening service. They also offer help with formal proceedings following a suicide, assistance with young people to help them process their emotions and much more.
