LAST Thursday saw the continuation of the Okehampton Cycling Club's summer time trial series. The 10 mile course traces the old A30 road from Bridestowe to Lewdown and back.

On a fine sunny evening in near perfect riding conditions a field of 14 cyclists turned up eager to put their fitness to the test against the clock.

At the end there were broad smiles all around as due to the windless conditions many of the riders set new personal best times.

Andy Retter was fastest on the night clocking a time of 26 minutes 15 seconds followed by Andy Bowyer on 27.27 and Gary Herbert was a close third with 27.31.

Results: A Retter, 26.15; A Bowyer, 27.27; G Herbert, 27.31; M Cory, 27.32; A Stokes, 27.51 PB; S Finch, 27.53 PB; A Bellew, 27.59 PB; S Podd, 28.32; M Deacon, 28.37 PB; S Perrett, 30.22 PB; J Bowyer, 32.15; R Yeus, 33.03 PB; N Dean Simmons, 34.26 PB; D Rowlands, 35.05 PB;
