A LOCAL woman has retired after working in the Okehampton Co-op store for almost half a century.

Jean Brooks, who worked in the store for 47 years, recently celebrated her retirement by joining friends and colleagues for a meal.

Store manager Martin Ford, who organised the retirement gathering at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, January 21, said Jean was a well-known and valued member of staff who would be sadly missed.
