OKEHAMPTON army cadets have been presented with awards marking their dedication to their training.

Corporal Hayley Shaw has received the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award certificate, while Serjeant Ruby Smith received her BTEC certificate and the 4-Star Army Proficiency Certificate (APC), the highest cadets’ award.

Meanwhile, Potential Instructor Beth Harrow, who is training to be an instructor with the Okehampton corps, was awarded the Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award.

Colonel Robert Barnes, the Honorary Colonel of Devon Army Cadet Force, presented the trio with their awards at a ceremony at ISCA Academy in Exeter before Christmas.
