IN division one there was another 10-0 win for Bridestowe against North Wyke. Bridestowe's Mark Fogerty, Mark Tanock and Francess Griffiths were too strong against North Wykes. Tom Misselbrook, Steve Granger and Jill Whiteley.
The next match The Mixtures were at home against Bridestowe. Steve Tyler beat Francess Griffiths in straight sets. Steve then beat Phil Down. Karen Stephenson won the other singles against Phil, just winning in five sets. Mark Tancock was unbeaten, but was taken all the way by Sarah Jackson just winning in five sets, for a 7-3 win for Bridestowe.
In the next North Wyke played Academy who raced into an 8-0 lead before Tom Misselbrook saved the whitewash beating Tom Pengelly in 4 legs. Ben Hill and George Haskell playing his first match this year both scored maximums, Academy winning the doubles for a 9-0 win.
The first division two match was Milton Abbot B against Milton Abbot A who won 10-0. Rob Evans took Michael Blatchford to a five-leg decider, just losing out 4-11. In the fifth Ian Osborne and Tim Westcott were also unbeaten.
There was another 10-0 win in the next, Horrabridge at home to league leaders Oke C. Richard and Martin Rose and Ivor Copley proving too strong for Peter and Lesley Coleman and Jill Northey.
In the next match Moretonhampstead at home to Milton Abbot B, Moreton only had two players Ken and Richard Underhill. Ken beat Rob Evans in the first, then Richard won his first singles beating young Harry Barnaby in five. Rob levelled at 2-2. There was another 5-leg match for Richard against young Ben Evans, just losing out 9-11 in the fifth with a score at 5-4 to Milton Abbot. Ken and Richard winning the doubles against Ben and Harry for a 5-5 draw.
Milton Abbot a were home to Horrabridge. In the first game Michael Blatchford just beat Bob Newcombe in five sets. Bob also took young Tim Westcott to 5-legs, just losing out 11-9. In the fifth Milton went into an 8-0 lead, before Derek Vanstone saved the whitewash beating Michael Blatchford in 4-legs. Michael and Tim won the doubles for a 9-1 win for Milton Abbot.
Also in division two the top two teams saw Okehampton C play Okehampton B in a hard fought match, the C side running out 6-4 winners. Harry Bryant won the first against Martin Rose and went on to complete a fine maximum. Young Keiran Coyle won the last singles against Richard Rose in five sets. The C side went on to win the doubles. Richard and Martin Rose beat Keiran and Maureen Venton in straight sets for a 6-4 win for Oke C.
