Okehampton 4

Ottery Crickets A 2

OKEHAMPTON got their third win of the season with a relatively easy victory, never having to really produce their best hockey to overcome their opponents.

Oke started slowly but always looked assured in defence and dangerous going forward. They took the lead through Brett Lawson, who was presented the easiest of chances after a good run and square pass left the goalkeeper stranded.

Half-time came and went with the hosts in control but lacking their usual killer instinct, they did double their lead though through a Greg Williams reverse stick strike.

The away side passed it well and started to look more threatening and pulled a goal back.

The home side did not panic and within minutes regained their two goal advantage when Josh Speak scuffed a drag flick through the goalkeepers legs.

Mark Parsons fired in a fourth from another short corner before Ottery score a well worked short of their own as a late consolation.
