A trip to Penzance for three Okehampton Judoka proved worthwhile as they all came back with medals! Ella Percival won gold in her first ever competition in the primary (U10yrs) U35kg group. Her determination, fighting spirit and non stop attacking style paid off against some tough opposition and she won all her fights with full scores. Aidan Bostock also won gold as he moved up into the U55kg juniors (U16yrs) against bigger opponents. Ed Chatterton had a tough time in the Kyu grade seniors in his debut and was effectively fighting in open weight competition, he fought very well though against some experienced players and came away with a bronze. Grading success the following students were successful in improving their grades at last weeks club grading:- Thomas Short (Primary) two red tabs; Nathan Bostock (primary) two orange tabs; Jack Croft (junior) two yellow tabs; Erik Van Riel (junior) two yellow tabs; Ella Percival (junior) yellow belt one orange tab; Levi Dove (junior) yellow belt one orange tab; Geoff Cawse (senior) fourth Kyu; Ed Chatterton (senior) fourth Kyu and Dave Wills (senior) fourth Kyu.
