Okehampton Men's A 6
Dart B 0
AFTER last week's great team performance, Okehampton A faced Dart B high on confidence, which was evident right from the start of this match.
Okehampton got off to a great start by getting a early goal with Darren Reed being in the place at the right time to score a simple tap in.
The home side started to play some attractive hockey and soon scored a second with probably the best play in the match with a string of passes; a through ball was laid off to Jacob Lloyd, who calmly chipped the ball neatly over the Dart keeper.
Dart did have a couple of chances but these were cleared off the line by Dave Dennis.
The visitors were punished for missing those chances soon after when Rob Yells slotting it past the keeper's right to make it three.
Okehampton perhaps should have had a fourth with Reed going through the Dart defence and shooting the ball past the keeper but the umpire had adjudged a foul and the goal was disallowed.
At half time it was 3-0 but after the break Oke immediately started to look for a fourth and managed to find the net with Jake Lloyd striking his second and effectively killing the game off.
A great performance from Lloyd was topped off with his third with a great strike which the keeper couldn't handle. Oke soon made it six with Lloyd taking a shot which the keeper saved but Reed was on hand to get the rebound to get his second.
Okehampton could have had another before the final whistle when a pass across goal found its way to Clive Marais but Marais was unable to control the ball and the ball went into touch.
This was another great performance from Okehampton A recording their biggest win of the season and now will look to build on this victory next week against Plymouth Marjon D.
Okehampton A man of the match was Jacob Lloyd.
