ZEAL have played league leaders Kentisbeare twice in eight days and having had at least 50% of the overall play in both matches have come out empty handed on both occasions.
For 70 minutes of this encounter Zeal were in control, having gone ahead after 20 minutes when Nick Pollard pounced on a poor clearance from the Kentisbeare keeper. He was left in no man?s land as Nick rounded him and finished coolly from close range.
Zeal could have been several goals up at half-time but could not convert good approach play into goals.
Zeal were more subdued in the second half and needed another goal to finish Kentisbeare off. Their best chance came after ten minutes of the half when Pollard pounced on a good through ball and rounded the Kentisbeare keeper only to see his shot hit the side-netting from an acute angle.
Zeal tired in the last quarter and conceded three sloppy goals, but the score as in the first game at Kentisbeare was not an accurate reflection of either game.
