West Dorset 5

Okehampton 2

OKEHAMPTON suffered their first defeat of the season in the toughest of conditions in Bridport.

Oke never really got going in the open 15 minutes and the hosts were denied by some good defending and goalkeeping. The hosts took the lead though  through a lack of marking leaving John Jarvis exposed and helpless to stop the striker from converting. A second soon followed and Okehampton were battling to stop the game going out of there reach, Andy Paterson then played a lovely ball to Mark Parsons who dinked it over the goalkeeper to half the deficit. Greg Williams then played a superb ball across the area but a miss control prevented a certain goal. Dorset scored a third before half time and the game was slipping away from the visitors.

The second half improved with Oke applying the pressure but looking vulnerable to a break. Williams reversed sticked an effort just wide and Luke Miller hit the post. A penalty against the visitors broke Okehampton resilience. The hosts converted and soon added a fifth. Although Oke lost three were a few positives to take from the game especially the emergence of Josh Balsdon who was outstanding.

n This week Oke host ISCA B at 1pm.
