HOW much I agree with the people who have voiced their points of view ref the farce that is going on down in the Grenofen Woods.
I can remember the viaduct that was taken down way back in time which was in perfect condition and, in my opinion, would have done a proper job. Someone had the forethought to keep Meldon Viaduct and see the use that is being put to.
In these days of belt-tightening how can you justify the money that, to my way of thinking, is being spent on something that will be used by very few people. The way I see it is that those in power at the time did not have the forethought to keep the railway track-bed open after the dear old GWR was taken from us.
As a lot of people out there know, further down the Plym Valley the cycle track is on the old railway track that is used by walkers and cyclists. Why could that not have been carried on all the way? There must be many who would have known the route the railway took.
