A NORTHLEW bed and breakfast emerged as winners on Channel 4’s Four in a Bed programme.

Martin Perry, owner of Elmfield Bed and Breakfast, along with housekeeper Tracey Barrett, spent two weeks in September 2017 filming the programme that went out last week on Channel 4. The programme takes competitors to different bed and breakfast establishments and participants pay what they think the accommodation is worth at the end of their stay.

As well as Northlew they all stayed at Truro, Bournemouth and Seaford in a wide variety of homes.

Mr Perry said: ‘It was not an experiment we would repeat but we are pleased we did it – especially as we won! However it was a long drawn out process and a constant battle with the producer and interviewers to avoid their determined efforts to drive a wedge between competitors.

‘The pressure on you to disparage other competitors was horrendous. I guess that makes for more interesting television but it was not something we indulged in.’
