MEMBERS of the North Tawton Plastic Recycling Project are urging residents to bring their household plastic waste to a collection point in the town to help the environment.
The collection of plastic waste takes place in the public car park near North Tawton Square every third Saturday of every month.
The next date for collection is Saturday, April 15. Residents wishing to recycle their plastic waste can drop it at the collection point from 10am until noon.
The Plastic Recycling Project volunteer team includes members of North Tawton Environmental Group — an organisation who’s aim is to protect the environment.
Members of the team will be available on the day of collection to help with any queries you might have.
Carolyn Scott, a volunteer for the recycling project said: ‘We accept most plastics but it has to be rigid plastic with the exception of bubble wrap.’
Household waste items suitable to drop-off at the recycling collection point are margarine and ice cream tubs, cream and yoghurt pots, sandwich containers, salad pots, fruit and vegetable trays, meat and fish trays, biscuit and chocolate box trays, CDs and cases, plastic flower pots and bubble wrap.
Carolyn added that North Tawton Plastic Recycling Project team were always on the lookout for new volunteers, if you would like to join the team phone 07929 261047.
