TIME is running out for nominations for this year's West Devon Mayoral Awards which aim to recognise the borough's unsung heroes and heroines.
The awards are held annually and recognise people who have done something particularly noteworthy in West Devon or who have enhanced the borough's reputation on the national stage.
The awards fall into three categories: a young person under 18, an organisation or business or person over 18 and an individual or group who have made a significant contribution to the conservation and protection of the natural environment of West Devon.
Mayor of West Devon Cllr Robin Musgrave is also the council's Children and Young Persons' Champion.
He said: 'Young people achieve so much and do such good work in our borough so I hope there are plenty of nominations this year for the under 18s category, as well as the other two categories.
'These awards are a way of saying thank you to just some of the people who work to make things better for the borough and its communities.'
The deadline for nominations is Thursday, February 28. Nomination forms are available from the reception of the council's Kilworthy Park offices, Okehampton Customer Services Centre at St James Street and the mayor's secretary Janet Rosser on 01822 813629.
Forms are also available in the libraries at Chagford, Princetown, Tavistock and Okehampton and online at this address: http://www.westdevon.gov.uk/MayoralAwards">www.westdevon.gov.uk/MayoralAwards
