ON a gloriously hot and sunny day Lewdown Cricket Club, the annual cricket carnival, was enjoyed by a record number of people.
Six teams of 10 players, made up two groups of three, played pairs cricket. The top two teams from each group played a semi-final leading to a final.
Players, parents, and juniors were all drawn into equal teams which allowed for exciting games.
Brenden Worth, the club's development officer, said: 'After 160 overs, a few injuries, many burgers and hot dogs and a few beverages the final was held it quickly darkening conditions.
Winning captain Steve Batstone gleefully accepted the trophy from club president Frank Rolfe at 8.30 pm.
Sixty players and another 40 friends and family spectating thoroughly enjoyed a fitting end of season finale for Lewdown CC.'
