Anson league under 15s Activate Youth 1 Tavistock Town 0 TAVISTOCK started the match with ten players and after a shaky start with Webber making a string of incredible saves they started to work the ball upfield. A number of shots went goalbound but Tavistock couldn?t find the net. McCall played everywhere and when the ball landed at his feet he smashed a long shot which just dipped over the bar. Activate were lucky not to lose a player when Johnson was hacked after the ball had long gone. Shortly before half time McCall was smashed in the face with the ball and had to leave the field until the blood stopped. The second half saw Tavistock attack from the start and Lyle came close with a well struck shot. Derbyshire was a constant thorn in Activate?s side. Doyle arrived and joined the field of play and Tavistock were in command of the game. Five minutes before time a long high ball fooled everyone and to everyone?s amazement the ball fell into the corner of the net. Tavistock did everything to get the equaliser but time ran out on them much to Activate?s relief. Player of the match: Mark Webber. Manager?s player went to the whole team for a tremendous performance. The team thanked manager Dave Webber for all his hard work during the season.
