Jewson South Western
Tavistock 1
St Blazey 3
THIS was the third encounter between both sides in eight days. Captain Mark Wall received an injury in Saturday's game and with James Cole out with a broken leg back came Jeff Babb to lead the attack and P& D manager Chris Abbott started in defence.
St Blazey had the better chances during the first half with Waddell seeing his shot smothered by keeper Andy Meeds. Good advantage from the referee allowed Hooper to shoot but he hit the post and the ball came straight back to Meeds.
A bad back pass to Meeds almost cost them dearly when from his clearance the ball was put back over his head only to go wide of the goal.
Pete Tiffney and Mark Piper replaced the injured Abbott and Ben Pinkham at half-time.
Own goals had been a feature of the three games and this one did not disappoint.Good teamwork sent Chris Gott down the wing for him to cross in low and hard and Jones could not prevent putting the ball in his own net for the Lambs to take an unexpected lead.
Hooper shot wide just before the hour when clean through and Chris Kiely was harshly booked after what looked a good tackle.
On 72 minutes the Saints equalised after two successive corners when Parsons arrived at the far post to head home..
From the kick-off they almost increased their lead when Piper was dispossessed by Ian Gosling but Meeds saved the full back's blushes.
St Blazey then laid siege on the Lambs goal. Two free kicks followed by two corners took their toll as the Lambs failed to clear their lines to allow Waddell to loop the ball over Meeds from the final set-piece.
On 80 minutes the Saints increased the lead when a long ball out of defence allowed Hooper to run on and shoot home.
