IT'S about to get easier to buy bus tickets in Yelverton, as First Devon and Cornwall has joined forces with PayPoint to enable customers to buy bus tickets over the counter at their local shop.
People can now buy FirstWeek, FirstMonth and First3Month tickets from local shops in Yelverton as well as Plymouth, Ivybridge, Saltash and Torpoint.
The move means people will be able to buy their bus tickets in advance, at their own convenience. It will encourage more people to buy their tickets off the bus, which in turn may speed up boarding times, and mean even more people will be able to take advantage of the cheaper deals on bus travel that are available to those who buy multi-journey tickets in advance.
Talking about the new payment method, Marc Reddy, managing director of First Devon and Cornwall, said: 'We're always on the lookout for ways to improve our services for our customers so when they told us they wanted an easier and more convenient way to buy their tickets in advance of travel, we identified PayPoint as the perfect solution.
'Many customers already enjoy the convenience of paying utility bills, telephone charges, rent and council tax using PayPoint, so the facility to buy their bus ticket fits perfectly.'
People will be able to buy or renew bus tickets at the Co-op in Yelverton or online at http://www.firstgroup.com/etickets">www.firstgroup.com/etickets
