ONE of the oldest branches of the Royal British Legion in Devon celebrated a special anniversary last weekend.
The North Tawton branch celebrated its 90th anniversary on Saturday — the branch was established in 1922, just a year after the formation of the RBL itself.
It is believed to be the oldest in the county, and is still going strong.
Chelsea Pensioner Brian Cummings presented a slide show on the Chelsea Hospital and showed visitors old photographs. Ralph Howard-Williams, Devon county chairman for the Royal British Legion also attended the event.
