ARTISTS launched the Nine Days of Art event at Tavistock?s Molly Owen Centre on Saturday. The work of seven artists went on display. Featured are textiles by Jane Deane, mixed media designs by Jillian Morris, hand embroidered textiles, African-inspired bead work, jewellery and pictures by Abby, Hannah and Kate Parsons and hand-rolled felt by Mary Toon. In addition, there are paintings by Tavistock mayor Caroline Keane, whose work may also be viewed at her home at 20 Parkwood Road, between 10am and 4pm until Sunday, as part of the Drawn to the Valley arts festival. The exhibition is open during the weekend between 11am and 4pm and during weekdays between 10am and noon and 4pm until 6pm.
