TAVISTOCK Golf Club ladies? section held their closed meeting on September 7 ? the winners were: 1, silver division, Nicky Gawman with net 73; 2, Penny Deakin, net 74; 3, Rosemary Cook, net 76 and 4, Ann Russell, net 76.
In the bronze division, 1, Ginny Samborne, net 74; 2, Sue Gowing, net 74; 3, Lesley Gibson, net 75 and 4, Lyn Alderman, net 75. Victoria Coe won the scratch prize with a net 79.
On September 14 it was the monthly medal. In division 1 Sally Hills was first with net 71; runner-up Belinda McSherry, net 75. Division 2, Sue Gawman first, net 71; runner-up Judy Sloman, net 79. The LGU Pendant was won by Sue Gawman.
The Autumn Foursomes competition was held on September 15. The results were: 1, Sharon Williams and Sybil Cole, 32 points; 2, Lesley Kedge and Sue Prince of Stover, 32; 3, Lyn Alderman and Pat Gove, 32; 4, Jayne Martin-Scott and Judy McKerracher of Taunton, 31; 5, Alison Measelle and Barbara Periton of Yelverton, 31; 6, Jan Walls and Norma Thewlis, 30.
The Visitors? prize, Sandra Neale and Jenny Dunbar of Looe, 31; Vets Prize, Liz Slee and Margaret Harvey of Launceston, 29; Front Nine prize, Sandra Mackenzie and Marilyn Allen, 18; Back Nine prize, Jane Wright and Gill Whitelock of Staddon, 17. The Rose Bowl for best net score by Tavistock players was won by Sharon Williams and Sybil Cole.
The monthly stableford and Allen Candlesticks competition was played on September 21. Winners were: silver division, Belinda McSherry, 33 points; bronze division, 1, June Kendall, 35; and bronze division 2 Pam Adams 40.
The Allen Candlesticks were won by Hester Carter and Pat Billinghay with 64. The Caddies? trophy was also competed for that day and was won by June Kendall.
