Kaitiff then had his third wicket in this fine spell when McGahey took a sharp diving catch at first slip to remove opposing captain R Cherrington.

With Hatherleigh at 117-6 the game seemed to be sliding to a draw but veteran Nick Rogers took the attack to Tavistock pounding the short leg side boundary he was  finally caught for 51, and despite a 36 from John Rogers Hatherliegh ended 16 runs short and honours even.
